Many believe perfectionism means doing things or being perfect. Nevertheless, perfectionism is, in fact, the pressure we put on ourself to reach unattainable standards. Since they’re unrealistic, these criteria are barely reached. South Asians think perfectionism is a valued and strong quality. Some do not realize they’re perfectionists, presuming that criteria are commonplace and normal.

Stress, nervousness and mood problems.

Lastly, since perfectionists are so obsessed with attaining goals themselves, they seem to be very self involved. This could make it too hard to keep a relationship with a perfectionist, meeting exactly the individual to feel alone. This increases the risk of developing depression and even trying or attempting suicide. Perfectionism has an extremely negative impact on mental and physical health as well as relationships.
